Happy 1st Birthday Britt Inspired!!!

It seems like just yesterday my blog was but a single page. One post filled with goals and aspirations, waiting to become something great. A year ago today, it didn’t even have its own URL. But now look at it. 25 whole subscribers! lol. OK. Let’s not be sappy. Maybe this blog isn’t the internet sensation I hoped it would be. Maybe I didn’t put quite as much work into it as I had planned. I still accomplished a lot and feel like I’m on my way to something awesome! Enjoy a piece of virtual cake while I take a look at the goals I set for myself last year.

Who's buying my birthday cake?

11) Total Website Re-Brandage! (did I make that word up?)

Eh. There’s been a couple redesigns. Nothing major. I’m still not really happy with BrittanyRubinstein.com. But with every redesign I feel like I get a better sense of what I want, so it’s coming along. It’s just a little more time consuming then I had hoped.

10) Blog More!

Well obviously this has been accomplished! This year, I’d like to be a little more consistent though!

9) Read More Blogs

I’m reading so many blogs, I can’t even keep up with them all! Somewhere around 20-30 I think. I’m learning a lot and getting a lot of new perspectives on things.

8 ) Reach 2,000 Twitter Followers

Not quite. As of today I’m at 708. So let’s set that goal again. 2,000 by the end of the year!

7) Monetize my social media to at least $50 per month.

Nope. Not even close. I think I’ve earned $50 in all of 2011. It’s cool. The experts said it would be hard work. I’m confident I can do it this year!

6) Balance my time on and off the computer

The year started out a bit roughI admit. With no full time job I didn’t really have a choice. I tried to go to the gym, find other places to go, just to get out of the house, but it was tough. With this ski instructor job though, I’ve found a pretty good balance!

5) Gain some kick-ass design skills

I’m not sure I’ve quite reached the level of kick-assery, but I’m definitely working on it. Done some Photoshop and Illustrator tutorials, just to brush up on my skills.

4) Make something that goes viral

Viral? Not quite. But a few of my posts have gotten some great traffic and awesome mentions. It’s a start

3) Explore Denver More (Without ending up in Wyoming)

Man, it feels like so long ago that I was living in Denver. Turns out I was only there for 5 more months following the start of the blog, but from what I remember, I did some exploring. lol.

2) Save Money!

When you have a job, this becomes a lot easier. LOL. So yes. I definitely feel like I’ve accomplished it.

1) Live life, grab every opportunity and experience that comes my way

Ah yes. Doing the best I can with what’s been thrown at me. I think this winter in Colorado is proof of that. It may not be my first choice for a job, but it’s an experience I’m not going to forget.

Thanks everyone for sticking with me this past year. Looking forward to Year 2! I expect some awesome things!
